ABSTRAK
Penelitian mengenai komposisi dan kelimpahan moluska (gastropoda dan
bivalvia) di ekosistem mangrove muara Sungai Musi Kabupaten Banyuasin provinsi
Sumatera Selatan telah dilaksanakan dari bulan Juli -
Agustus 2007. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi dan
kelimpahan moluska terutama gastropoda dan bivalvia di ekosistem mangrove muara Sungai Musi Kabupaten
Banyuasin provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Stasiun
penelitian dilakukan pada 5 stasiun. Metode penempatan stasiun yang digunakan
adalah purposive sampling.
Pengambilan sampel moluska (gastropoda dan bivalvia) dilakukan menggunakan
transek kuadrat yang berukuran 1 x 1 m2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan
bahwa komposisi moluska adalah 21 spesies yang terdiri gastropoda 17 spesies
dan bivalvia 4 spesies. Kelimpahan moluska tertinggi pada stasiun 2 yaitu
845.556 ind/ha sedangkan terendah pada stasiun 4 yaitu 330.000 ind/ha.
Kelimpahan gastropoda tertinggi pada stasiun 2 yaitu 844.444 ind/ha sedangkan terendah pada
stasiun 4 yaitu sebesar 330.000 ind/ha. Kelimpahan bivalvia tertinggi pada
stasiun 5 yaitu 4.444 ind/ha. Gastropoda spesies Littoria scabra ditemukan sangat dominan disetiap stasiun. Mangrove
yang ditemukan Avicennia alba, Sonneratia
caseolaris, Rhizophora stylosa dan
Bruguiera gymnorrhiza.

Research on the composition and abundance of
mollusca (gastropods and bivalves) in the
Musi River estuary mangrove ecosystem Banyuasin
regency of South Sumatra province has been conducted from July to August 2007. The
purpose of this study was to
determine the composition and abundance
of mollusca, especially gastropods
and bivalves in
the ecosystem of the mangrove estuary
of the Musi River Banyuasin district in South Sumatra province. Station research conducted
at 5 stations. Station
placement method used
was purposive sampling. Sampling mollusca (gastropods
and bivalves) are
conducted using transect squares
measuring 1 x 1 m2.
The results showed that the composition
of 21 species of mollusca are gastropods contain of 17 species and 4
species of bivalves. Mollusca
abundance highest in station 2 was 845.556
ind / ha while the lowest at station 4 was 330.000 ind / ha. Gastropod abundance is
highest at station 2 was 844.444 ind / ha while the lowest at
station 4 was 330.000 ind / ha. Bivalves highest
abundance at station 5 was 4444 ind / ha. Gastropod species found
Littorina scabra
very dominant in
